So here we are. And this post? It’s not just an introduction. It’s a mission statement.
Because this isn’t just a podcast, or a blog, or a business strategy corner. It’s a movement for every entrepreneur who’s hustled in silence, failed behind closed doors, and wondered if anyone else is doing this messy, exhausting, but incredibly meaningful work of building a small business.
Why “The Real Small Business Owners”?
Because the way we talk about entrepreneurship is broken.
We glamorize the wins. The viral moments. The “10K in a day” stories. But what about the seven failed launches that came before it? What about the burnout, the breakdowns, the partnerships that ended, the sleepless nights wondering if you can make payroll?
That’s the stuff nobody talks about. That’s the stuff this blog will.
I’m here to be honest about what it really takes to run a sustainable business. Not just one that survives, but one that gives you freedom, profit, and purpose… on your terms.
The Cinderella Syndrome of Entrepreneurship
There’s a myth out there: that running a small business should feel magical. That once you launch, you’ll make money, have free time, travel the world, and feel fulfilled every day.
Here’s the truth: those things are possible but only with a lot of intentional, unsexy backend work that rarely gets the spotlight.
Most small business owners aren’t failing because they’re lazy or unskilled. They’re failing because they’re wearing every hat. CEO, janitor, bookkeeper, customer service, content creator…..and there’s no system holding it all together. They’re building castles on sand.
The Real Small Business Owners exists to change that.
Why Now?
Because the statistics are heartbreaking.
Only 60% of small businesses make it past year three.
Only 10% make it to year ten.
And the ones that don’t? It’s rarely because they didn’t care enough. It’s because no one taught them how to build sustainability into the foundation.
No one told them how to hire without wasting money.
No one taught them what systems they actually needed.
No one gave them a roadmap.
Until now.
My Story (And Why I Care So Deeply)
I wasn’t born into success. I was born to parents battling addiction. But I was raised by a powerhouse, my grandma, who taught me the value of showing up, working hard, and answering the damn phone. That woman built a real estate empire from nothing, and she passed her grit straight to me.
At 19, I bought the dance studio I grew up in. I ran it for nearly 15 years, through a market crash, through COVID, through moments where I questioned if I had what it took. I grew it, struggled with it, burned out from it, and eventually, sold it.
But along the way, I learned everything I now teach.
The systems that make your business sustainable.
The mistakes that almost cost me everything.
The strategies that helped me scale it all back up, this time, the right way.
I’ve now worked 1:1 with over 288 business owners across 38 industries. And do you know what I’ve found?
